Andrea Bijen [1985, Amsterdam] is an audiovisual artist, documentary filmmaker, visual researcher, and interviewer. Andrea is currently working on two audiovisual art projects, titled If Trees Could Cry and No one Got Married, They Were Killed, in which her love for natural structures, materiality, and suffering converge. She explores the boundaries of beauty and cruelty in that what is alive and transient.

Since 2019, Andrea is a lecturer in Film and Visual Culture at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and Amsterdam Fashion Institute. She also leads international teams of trainees in their creative research program for innovative media projects together with Digital Society School, VPRO Medialab, NPO Innovation and Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision
